Pinnacle Entertainment announced today that a big check point was reached in its quest to buy Ameristar Casinos, Inc. According to a press release, Pinnacle intends to sell Ameristar’s casino hotel development project in Lake Charles, Louisiana, and Pinnacle’s Lumiere Place Casino, HoteLumiere and the Four Seasons Hotel in St. Louis, Missouri. “We are pleased with the progress we have made in addressing the Federal Trade Commission’s administrative complaint and look forward to completing our proposed acquisition of Ameristar as soon as possible in the third quarter,” Anthony Sanfilippo, Chief Executive Officer of Pinnacle Entertainment, said in a statement.
Pinnacle Entertainment. Owns and operates seven casinos, located in Louisiana, Missouri, and Indiana, and a racetrack in Ohio. Pinnacle is also redeveloping River Downs in Cincinnati, Ohio into a “gaming entertainment facility.” The company owns a minority interest in Asian Coast Development Ltd., an international development and real estate company currently developing Vietnam’s first large-scale integrated resort on the Ho Tram Strip, and holds a majority interest in the racing license owner, as well as a management contract, for Retama Park Racetrack outside of San Antonio. On December 20, 2012, Pinnacle agreed to acquire Ameristar Casinos, Inc. In an all cash transaction valued at $26.50 per Ameristar share or total consideration of $2.8 billion including assumed debt. Ameristar owns and operates casino facilities in St. Charles near St.

Tourists prevailed there (I was one of them) and play wasn't too aggressive. I also played Friday night and play was markedly more aggressive. I'm assuming that there were more locals there on Friday. Again, some very good card players here. Good personalities and fun. They really excelled in this area.
Wait lists were very well organized. You can call ahead and get your name on a list which is a HUGE plus particularly on a Friday night. I called ahead and I was ready to be seated the moment I walked in. At that time, the wait was estimated at about 45 minutes if I hadn't. It was a very organized operation. The poker room managers were busy, but friendly, courteous and provided excellent customer service. There were only two minor drawbacks to the casino in general: You have to buy your chips at the cage which is across the floor from the Poker room.
I'd prefer to purchase them at the table. Maybe this is a St. Louis thing and not the casino's fault. Also, you are required to sign up for their Player's Club before you can enter the casino floor. Lucky for me, I made it into this line 2 minutes before an entire bus load of senior citizens entered the line behind me. If I had gotten there any later, I would have been in line for about a half hour. This would have caused me to miss the tournament sign in.
